Seattle Music Teachers Association (SMTA) is a non-profit organization committed to the advancement of musical knowledge and education. SMTA was established in 1947 and is a chapter of Washington State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
SMTA conducts programs and activities to facilitate the education of music teachers, support and promote the awareness of the value of music education for all individuals, and build a vital musical culture within the community. Comprised of musicians with many educational interests and varying backgrounds,
our current membership of over 150 teachers welcomes all who are eager to grow musically and expand their horizons as music teachers.
