Freedom Centre International (FCI), formerly South London Temple (SLT), was birthed in 1997 out of UPG Ministries. Its first meeting place was at the Euro Business Centre in Brixton with a membership of about 25 people. Under the guidance of its visionary leader Dr Shadrach Ofosuware affectionately called Pastor Shadrach, within four months South London Temple moved location to Peckham where its membership grew to over 500 in under 5 years.

Pastor Shadrach's passion to see branches of FCI in all parts of the UK and all nationalities represented in FCI, was confirmed by a number of ministers who prophesied the expansion of the church. To accommodate the expansion of the church out of the South London area, South London Temple was renamed Freedom Centre International in 2009.
