Founded by Havoc and the late Prodigy (1974-2017), Mobb Deep were poetical prophets spitting the cold truth about life in the Queensbridge projects. Part of an East Coast explosion that found Nas, Wu-Tang Clan and The Notorious B.I.G. break into the mainstream from the five boroughs of New York, Mobb Deep earned instant acclaim when sophomore album The Infamous was issued in 1995 and single “Shook Ones (Pt. II)” became a classic of the art form. Since then, they logged four Top 10 albums and sold more than three million records—one of hip-hop’s most successful duos.
