Preludes & Fugues, Waltzes, Impromptus, Concertos... Everything I love composing.
I hope you will find my work somewhat appealing and relaxing.
I usually don't write much markings on my scores. I trust the performer's flair for finding places where to play softer or rubato, etc.. except when it is vital to the piece storytelling. I think it is a mark of respect and trust to an eventual performer.
The more a phrase respects grammatical conventions, the less it becomes expressive.
An example : « My wallet has been stolen. » vs « My wallet ? Stolen ! »
I think the same applies in music to some extent. It's necessary to know the rules but I am striving to find an equilibirum between expressiveness and the rigidity of those rules.
