An innovative and creative musician, British cellist Sarah Gait is the winner of multiple awards from the Royal Philharmonic Society, EMI Music Sound Foundation and the BBC Proms Young Composer Competition, among others. An alumna of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Northern College of Music, Sarah performs at leading venues across the UK and Europe, including Barbican Centre, King’s Place and St John’s Smith Square and festivals such as Schleswig-Holstein, Sion and Weimar.

Remarkably, Sarah has performed on BBC Radio 3 as all of solo cellist, solo pianist and composer, also winning awards for her audiovisual work such as the ISA Digital Creative Award Vienna. She was appointed Ambassador for the BBC Proms Inspire Scheme and received a Cumbria Life Culture Award for work in her home county. Sarah is the dedicatee of many new works for cello, also premièring her own concerto for improvising solo cellist with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester.
