Pete Oxley is a guitarist, bandleader and composer of mainly jazz-related music. He would explain that coming from a background of classical music, prog rock, and then, from his late twenties, a love of jazz - much from the ECM stable and ‘world’ influences - that his music is something of a meld of all these influences. He has written for many ensembles over the years and has had his pieces played on National radio, TV and performed by his various projects and by others.
Notable outlets for his writing would include his Paris-based band, The New Noakes Quartet, His 5-piece band Curious Paradise and latterly, the Oxley-Meier Guitar Project and Hejira, celebrating the music of Joni Mitchell
