Estudió en el Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico y la Universidad de Yale, obteniendo el grado de Bachillerato y Maestría respectivamente. Sus principales maestros han sido Gary Karr, Diana Gannett, Manuel Verdeguer y Orlando Cárdenas. Es elogiado por su mentor, el legendario contrabajista Gary Karr, quien nos indica, “ He is one of the most lyrical players I have ever heard and has an innate sense of musicality which is rare among performers. Because of his hearing impediment, he has the greatest understanding of bowing techniques than almost any string player in the world. He brings to the art of string playing a dimension and understanding which serves as an invaluable tool for his teaching”.
