The Contact Dance International Film Festival produced by REAson d’etre dance productions (RDDP), celebrates films featuring momentum-based dance created by some of the top creators in the field of Contact Dance Improvisation.

What is Contact Dance Improvisation?
Contact dance improvisation is a social dance involving touch, in which momentum between two or more people is used to create and inspire dance movements. Techniques include rolling point of contact, balancing over a partner’s centre of gravity, following momentum, and “listening” with one’s skin surface.

RDDP is a not-for-profit charitable dance company in Toronto, founded in 2000 by renowned dancer/choreographer Kathleen Rea. Since inception, the company has produced five main stage performance evenings, provided over 40 dance workshops, founded the Wednesday Dance Jam and the biennial Contact Dance International Film Festival. In 2009 the company was nominated for three DORA awards for their production Long Live.
