Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) protects 230 sq. miles in Northern Colorado including Fort Collins, Bellvue, Timnath, Horsetooth Reservoir, and areas of Redstone Canyon. We are an all-hazards, accredited fire agency that responds to home fires, wildfires, high angle rescues, river and lake rescues, HAZMAT mitigation, and much more.
We have 13 fire stations throughout the jurisdiction, a headquarters in downtown Fort Collins, and a state-of-the-art training facility set against a backdrop of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
PFA is a family, an organization, and a community partner. Our most important resource is our people, who are comprised of 229 full-time positions -- 199 sworn, 30 civilian/40-hour, 35 volunteer, and 20 part-time.
The City of Fort Collins and the Poudre Valley Fire Protection District (PVFPD) are encompassed in the service area and make up the two governing organizations of the Authority.
