Josef Newgarden is an American racer, piloting the No. 2 Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet in the NTT IndyCar Series. He is the 2011 Indy Lights champion, and the 2017 and 2019 IndyCar Series Champion. Newgarden won the 2023 Indianapolis 500 and the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona with Team Penske, becoming the 16th driver to win both an Indy 500 and a 24 Hours of Daytona. Newgarden is the winningest active American driver in the IndyCar Series with 29 wins entering 2024.

Newgarden is the driver ambassador for the SeriousFun Children's Network, a charity started by actor and race team owner Paul Newman. Newgarden and his wife also support Wags and Walks Nashville where they adopted their dog Axel. In 2022, Newgarden won the inaugural PeopleReady Force for Good Challenge, which earned $250,000 for each organization.

He resides in Nashville, Tenn., with his wife and son.
