The Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative of Northern Ohio is a consortium based at Case Western Reserve University that links the clinical and translational research efforts of its five partner institutions—CWRU, University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth System, and the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The goal of translational research is to turn observations in the lab and clinic into interventions that improve the health of individuals and populations. Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) focuses on the scientific and operational principles underlying each step of the translation process and helps bring more treatments to all people more quickly. Recently, health equity has taken center stage with a focus on including the community in the process of CTS to better address health disparities and achieve equity. We are determined that everyone in Cleveland—and beyond—should benefit from advances in CTS in our programs and discoveries.
