The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Pontificia Università S. Tommaso d'Aquino in Urbe), popularly known as “the ANGELICUM” (https://angelicum.it) is an international Dominican center of learning in the historic center of Rome. The university has faculties of Theology, Philosophy, Canon Law, and Social Sciences. The foundation of the Angelicum goes back to the XIII century (1265) medieval Dominican house of studies in Rome (at Santa Sabina), where St. Thomas Aquinas taught friars in formation towards the priesthood. Among the Angelicum’s distinguished alumni are fr. Karol Józef Wojtyła (Pope St. John Paul II), the Ven. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, fr. Servais-Théodore Pinckaers OP, fr. Réginald Marie Garrigou-Lagrange OP and fr. Wojciech Giertych OP (currently teaching). The same class rooms where they studied Theology are still in daily use by our 1,200 professors and students coming from over 90 countries. The university offers education in Italian and English.
