I am a physician/scientist working in the field of cancer research. This channel chronicles my piano learning adventure, started in the midst of the COVID pandemic, in March 2020. My only previous exposure to music was trying to learn the guitar when I was a teenager (a miserable failure!), but I have always been listening to classical music on the piano. Chopin is by far my favorite composer, although his pieces are rarely within my reach, at least for now.

I try to play 30 min/1 hour every night, and the main goal is to have fun and learn pieces I enjoy. I am under no illusion that I will ever be good at this, it's just a great hobby and an excellent way to take a break from science and medicine for a little bit every day.

I hope others considering a similar path will be encouraged by watching my videos. Even at my relatively old age (49yo when I started) one can make decent progress and have fun learning a new instrument from scratch! Enjoy!
