Performance - Teaching - Research
In 2014 I decided to start research about the origins and the technique of the violoncello, this project led me to rediscover the technique of the instrument and I recorded the 6 Bach Cello Suites on a full baroque set-up. I learned three main things through this project: playing the basses on an up bow gives better vibration to the string, there are laws of physics a cellist must follow in order to get the best sound out of the strings, your intonation is in your elbow... By knowing the laws of physics of the cello and laws of physics of the human body, we can use weight and movement to create an optimal sound. Now, I am happy to share all of this research through my teaching and my youtube channel. Thank you for following! https://www.jsbachcellosuites.com/ https://www.thecellopracticehelper.com/
