Christ Reformed was founded in 2015 as an independent congregation in the Reformed tradition. Christ Reformed is not affiliated with a particular denomination. That is not to say, however, that we are non-denominational, inter-denominational, or against all denominations. Rather, it is more accurate to say we are an independent denomination because we desire to remain faithful to the Reformed tradition apart from the influence of denominational governance. In other words, our church government operates autonomously.
The Elders of Christ Reformed have varying levels of accountability including occasionally seeking advice from other pastors and church leaders. But it is the Elders of Christ Reformed, not an outside entity, which governs the church. Ordination is a requirement to serve as a pastor on staff. (Our current pastor is an ordained minister.) Additionally, our current elder body has many years of shepherding experience within the local church in the office of elder.
