I first picked up the violin in the 2nd grade around the age of 8. I recall going to lessons at school for about 2 months, I don't remember why I quit. I began learning basic guitar chords in college and have piddled around ever since. After college I picked up a bass guitar with the same attitude. The second time I got a violin I was 27. I wasn't very serious with it. The violin sat in the closet mostly. Almost 11 years ago my house burnt down and I lost that violin and many other things. For Christmas 2020 my wife bought me a new violin. Since January of 2021 I have been practicing for 30 minutes to over an hour for 5 to 6 days a week. I also finally taught myself how to read music by the end of January. This space will focus on my cat videos and my burgeoning violin skills.
