Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission are aware of the increasing usage of mobile phones in Malaysia as the result of an extensive development in the communication and multimedia industry since the introduction of mobile broadband in 2009. However we do not want these devices putting enormous strain on our environment when they are no longer used.

Mobile e-Waste is introduced to educate the public on the importance of environmentally safe disposal and recycling of end-of-life (EOL), unused or unwanted mobile devices/phones and inculcate them towards the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse and recycling) culture in Malaysia.
