Bryan Thomas Baxter was raised on the top of a valley overlooking a village in New York that had a waterfall and a single stoplight. In basements and garages he practiced the music of youth. Eventually swept away to central New Jersey, he embedded himself in the music scene there, experimenting with different styles until carving out one that reflected his own image. Bryan’s music has been weathered by his life. He has seen countless lonely miles in the backcountry, drank beer directly from fermenters in forbidden medieval chambers, and fell into the love of a beautiful wife and two dusty-haired, big-eyed, daughters. Bryan’s music is the sound of his patience in letting ideas ferment, the love of simplicity, and the beauty in hardship. Like a long and deep conversation over beers and cigarettes, this album came together with the help of many talented friends trying hard to find the note that captures a life well-lived.
