Boarshurst Silver Band were first formed in 1849 at Boarshurst School in Greenfield, making it one of the oldest established brass bands in the country. Currently in the First Section, Boarshurst are available for all kinds of events; Traditional Brass Concerts, Electrobrass, Marches, Fundraisers, Parties and Corporate Events. They are also great advocates of keeping music live and host regular Brass Band Concerts each weekend at their band club in Greenfield Saddleworth where many other bands, of all ages and abilities, perform regularly. The performances are live streamed on Facebook and uploaded onto YouTube which currently attract thousands of views per month - providing the bands that perform with much deserved exposure whilst keeping the brass banding movement firmly in the public eye.
