Plumes of smoke erupted from Mount Agung in Bali, Indonesia on November 27.
A major volcanic eruption was predicted as the highest warning for the volcano was set in place, according to KTLA 5. Officials were warning residents near the volcano to evacuate. The severity of the eruption was hard to predict, however, since little information is known from Mount Agung’s last eruption in 1963.
At time of publication, thousands were stranded while Ngurah Rai International Airport remained closed due to volcanic activity. Credit: YouTube/Dirga Nyoman via Storyful
