South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance laid out plans to boost the people's livelihoods at a Cabinet meeting Tuesday... as part of measures related to the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. The ministry says it will spend almost 130 million U.S. dollars to increase the number of jobs for the elderly. It'll set aside around 80 million dollars to support regions that have experienced employment shocks following sluggish growth among local firms. In addition, it'll sharply increase the amount of gift certificates that can be used in traditional local markets this year. An emergency headquarters will also be established during the holiday period to minimize traffic congestion.
