India's most successful captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been removed as the captain of the Rising Pune Supergiants for the upcoming season of the IPL. The RPS no longer will be under the captaincy of the captain cool. The franchise has appointed Australia's Steve Smith as the new skipper. RPS owner Sanjeev Goenka said, "I have the highest regard for MS Dhoni as a leader and a person. Dhoni will continue to be an important part of our team. He is supportive of the decision keeping the franchisee's best interests in mind,". Dhoni has also been communicated about the decision by the franchise. Goenka also said, We have appointed Steve Smith as skipper for the upcoming season.
