The Mexican authorities have arrested eight gang members including their jailed boss who is alleged to have directed a brutal kidnapping from his prison cell. According to an official press release from the Mexico City Attorney General's Office (FGJCDMX), eight individuals were arrested on 26th July after an investigation determined their possible involvement in a kidnapping in the municipality of Valle de Chalco, in the central State of Mexico last May. According to the press statement, those arrested are believed to be part of a criminal gang called “The Hearts” which is dedicated to kidnapping and extortion. According to El Universal, the leader of the organisation, identified as Polo Paez Medina alias 'El Hardy', 27, is currently in jail in the Reclusorio Oriente prison in Mexico City, from where he allegedly directed the kidnapping.
