Many would consider covering someone’s toll an act of kindness, but that group does not appear to include the former employers of Vladislav Samsonov. 
They fired the 77-year-old man, known by many as Sam, for doing so. 
Samsonov, who worked for 30 years as a toll booth operator along the Boca Grande Causeway, realized recently that he’d undercharged a truck that went through. 

He decided the best solution was to cover the difference out of his own pocket, something he was used to doing as he often personally helped pay the tolls of those who didn’t have the cash.
