Relatives of Kosovo Albanians, arrested in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia after recent clashes, are calling for them to be freed.
Taking to the streets of Pristina to protest, families waved Albanian flags and held banners reading: “Free our boys” and “They are not terrorists”.
Fourteen gunmen and eight police officers were killed in clashes in Kumanovo.
Another 26 people, many from Kosovo, are under arrest in connection with the clashes.
Exact details about what happened remain unclear. Some suggest authorities in Skopje sparked the violence, seeking to shift attention from corruption scandals that threaten to oust the ruling conservatives.
