Two British men and their Russian guide died while on a fishing expedition in Russia's Murmansk region on Sunday morning after being struck by their helicopter's rotor. According to reports, the five-seater Eurocopter E120B aircraft carrying the three men landed at a luxury fishing campsite in the country's remote Kola Peninsula at around 11 am. The British men were thought to be on a salmon fishing expedition as the area is popular for its salmon-rich waters. After unloading the passengers close to the Rynda river, the pilot, who has 25 years of flying experience, began to take off.

According to the Mirror, a strong gust of wind might have caused the chopper to tilt on its side, causing the craft's rotor blade to strike the men, killing them. The pilot issued a distress signal immediately after the accident. According to reports, he survived but suffered minor injuries.
