According to a report by CNN, on Saturday, Russia's deputy foreign minister said that it's too early to discuss a possible 'prisoner swap' involving detained American Paul Whelan. Whelan, reportedly a citizen of the United States, Britain, Ireland, and Canada, was arrested on December 28th in Moscow on charges of espionage. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov reportedly said, "The situation around the American Paul Whelan, who was arrested in Russia, is very serious.
