The occupants of a vehicle that ran into trouble in fast-flowing floodwater in Vienna, Virginia, on August 1, had to be rescued by local firefighters.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said firefighters responded to a report of two people trapped in a car on a flooded stretch of Browns Mill Road at around 9.50 am.
They said the driver involved had followed two other vehicles into rapidly moving water after one driver removed a barrier blocking the road.
The car’s engine cut out, and the vehicle was carried along by the floodwater, before hitting an obstruction.
